In 1961 at the beginning of the Khruschev and JFK meeting in Vienna, Khrushchev attacked American policy of sanctions and economic pressure against the USSR as an unacceptable way of waging war. He went on to accuse the U.S. of trying to deny Communism as an ideology - and the USSR as a nation - it's rightful place in the world.
The summit is widely seen as contributing to all the crises the sprung up in quick succession afterwards due to the mutual dislike, distrust and lack of understanding by the leaders:
>The Berlin Crisis -61
>Cuban Missile Crisis -62
>Development and deployment of new mega sized nuclear missiles, like the Titan II -63
>Vietnam war

Khruschev was even worse, impulsive and unnecessarily combative in the first meeting.
