I would consider myself a nationalist, not to the leaf but towards my motherland, Czechia.
I have been trying to analyze human behavior from a purely evolutionary perspective and I've come across a strange thought.
Life is a competition. When you have smaller borders, there is less competition. For jobs, for mates, etc. The larger the playing field, the more players they are and by the natural order, you will likely be lower on the totem pole rather than higher as more players enter the game. Or put simply, there will be more people who are smarter and more competent than you are competing for resources and mates when you open up the borders and economies.
Therefore, isn't nationalism a beta sort of mindset? The elites who want globalization, open borders, etc, they want that because they've risen to the top of the hierarchy in their own countries and want to battle with those in others at a more intense level.
On a side note, I think the high rates of mental illness, homosexuality, etc in western countries are due to the intense competition found in the major cities combined with a liberal society. There has been evidence from studies with rats that this happens under such conditions.
What are your thoughts on this?

Europe a nation. Post napoleonic nationalism is divide and conquer garbage and it has failed us massively during the last 200 years.

I can follow your logic on this. Nationalism is protectionist and with it comes at least some anti-competitive practices. However, if we're to have any kind of mixed economy that includes welfare and other bs, then admission should be restricted as niggers will just show up for gibs and actually cause much more a drain on your society making it unable to compete with other nations that aren't doing this kind of shit.

Can you link said studies Anon?
I mean I guess Nationalism would be beta if we follow your logic but Nationalism for me is about uniting my entire nation (i.e The Arab World for me and the European continent for you) to compete among ourselves but only enough to drive us into bigger advancements which will result in us performing better in a larger scale competition (with other provinces, countries and Nations)
more importantly why don't you consider yourself a nationalist to the leaf when the leaf has been feeding and sheltering you (presumably) your entire life?

No.
Humans are tribal because tribalism works.
Grouping up together to fuck up those other guys works. So hairless monkeys group up with the most similar hairless monkeys and they go after the other group of hairless monkeys.
None of us got to pick these rules, but it doesn't change the fact that we all must play by them.
Don't like it? Tough shit, welcome to life.
