Catholic here wondering why I shouldn't become Orthodox. The constant scandals and sex abuse issues really piss me off and make me question whether or not the Orthodox are actually closer to the truth, and less cucked. Why don't the Orthodox suffer from this shit?

Because in orthodoxy priests can get married and higher clergy is drawn from monks. Catholicism tried to make their priests fill the role monks do in orthodoxy as a central spiritual pillar, but you need more priests to attend the laity than there are people who can live ascetic lives, so you get corruption of the system

because of that it's rather strange to have a priest who isn't married so less gays are drawn into priesthood to cover their homosexual desires
