That's an extremely narrow point of view though. The Corvus genus holds a lot of very intelligent species. Some so intelligent that they can craft tools, something that not even primate do. You're probably right, the scavenger element of their symbolism is too prominent.

You can say the same about the French cock (a negative element being a prominent part of the symbol) but then again theirs is kind of a big 'fuck you' so it makes more sense.
