What's not okay is patenting seeds, lobbying to ban all other seeds except your own and then sue farmers because nature flew your seeds in their fields.
Fructose and sugar in general is a lethal foodtrick, it's put in almost all foods yet has no business in them.

Yes, if you own a patent on a seed and the law respects that you have legal grounds to sue if said product is found in the possession of someone else without your apporval.
If it ever comes to a case is another thing but you can sue for this.

As for the fructose vs other sugars thing, some say it's better, some way it's worse, but in the end it's about putting any form of sugar in foods that aren't supposed to contain them.
I make my own bread because of this. Then I found out that all flour in my country contains sugar already, so I need to go to another country that has flour without added sugars.
