I've fucking about had it with YouTube. Just when you think you found something educational and safe for a 7 year old, like a woman's informative video about insects, snails, and other invertebrates, the autoplay feature brings out other videos featuring stupid 15-minute long expletive-filled rants about boyfriends, white privilege, and shopping made by the same person. It's like there isn't anything on YouTube that isn't degenerate poison requiring my constant supervision and screening.

Even the most innocuous stuff is corrupted. I tried looking up what my friend's kid wanted to learn about, "safety for kids", but all that came up in the search results are poorly animated and scripted videos, with nearly gibberish comments, that remind me too much of those MK Ultra videos to give to a kid in good conscience. I'm not about to let autoplay live up to its name and deliver those creepy videos, which it probably will given the way the YouTube algorithm works. I'm thoroughly unnerved by this website.

Where on the Internet can I find educational and safe videos for kids? Should I just ban YouTube? I don't want to be the person reverting to Mr. Rogers and Mr. Wizard to a kid in 2017, but maybe I will have to.

AHAHAHAHA you might as well be call it https://mkultra.youtube.com/. Most of those "bad baby spiderman poops on elsa learn the colors with syringes" videos evade the kid-friendly filter.

There's hundreds of these channels, thousands of these videos, and more pop up every day. I don't have the resources to "child-proof" YouTube even if I wanted to. At this point, I'd just like to know if there are any channels that are relatively clean and educational, that's all. Then I can setup a playlist without too much worry.
>>
>>132616651
If you are that worried, why not use something like youtube-dl to mass-download videos from channels and plex to watch them?
You could even use the RSS feed from the channels to download them automatically.

What makes you think they wouldn't click away from your playlist on youtube?
>>
A lot of people think I'm joking or something. This is another rabbit hole that you can dive into. It's not just Elsa, Spiderman, "daddy finger", "bad baby", etc., type of videos. But literally ANYTHING targeted at kids.

>dominates search results for "kid safety"; "safety for kids"; etc.
>bad English in video
>weird/unnerving storytelling, voice acting, and animation
>utterly useless information despite hitting all the popular terms, clickbait essentially
>mass produced YouTube channels with generic names and other low quality productions
>abnormally high viewer count and like/dislike ratio
>comments section filled with incoherent messages that resemble one another, too good english skills for toddlers, too poor english skills for anything that isn't a bot or a foreigner
>comments section may feature the occasional parent making a sane but angry post about the terrible quality of YouTube
>>
>>132617083
I trust my friend's kid not to do that, and I can still hear within earshot. He's not a bad kid, pretty sweet for his age. Thank you for the recommendation, I might do that too.
>>
>>132617083
The biggest problem is that I don't know where to go for good content in the first place. I like history, but all I know is Extra History (which might be okay), Historia Civilis (might be too advanced and specialized), and The Great War (same problem).
>>
Super Simple Songs
Not the most educative series but some teach colors, numbers, etc and my kid loves the music
>>
>>132621170
Thanks for that suggestion. I'll keep that in mind, but something more suited for a 7 year old?
>>
>>132621410
Can't help you there, sorry. My kids are under 2. I use plex and download stuff for him that way I know what they're watching even with autoplay.
>>
>>132621410
If you download shows, get beakmans world. It's the better version of classic bill nye

>too lazy to sit your kids down in front of the TV so abandon them on the internet instead
Fuck you.
I've been in this place for almost 80 years now and I won't let my kids have internet or mobile access until they're at least 14.
>>
>>132623035
They're not my kids you retard. I was only trying to help out a friend.
>I've been in this place for almost 80 years now and I won't let my kids have internet or mobile access until they're at least 14.
I agree. Talked it over with my girlfriend that that's the best path for them.
>>
>>132623335
You should beat your friend for letting them raise their children in such an awful manner.
>>
>>132623468
Somebody should. Not even my friend. She's actually my mother's friend.
>>
>>132615707
internet isn't for kids.
>>
>>132615707
it has always been like this. it was like this when you were a kid. you shouldn't let your kids anywhere near the internet until they're at least 13. the longer they are in dreamspace the better. don't get convinced by the miserable that kids should grow up fast.
>>
>>132615707
So stop relying on media for raising your kids you fucking retard. It is your job to raise your child not the fucking screen's.

>pid 15-minute long expletive-filled rants about boyfriends, white privilege, and shopping made by the same person

person = woman

remove women rights ASAP.

women only spread hate, that is literally all they do.
women destroy societies and nations.

hate to say, but muslims have the RIGHT attitude and treatment to women. they simply do.

and no, im not a mudslime and i despise mudslimes.
but they procreate and we dont. reason : women have rights. in other words : we have litle children power to decide over civilisation. what other result would one expect ? some men fell for the delusion, that women were people like men. an idea which noone disprive petter, than women themselves.

remove womens 'rights' ( unearned anyway ), ignore them, shame them, punish them, hold them account them and expose them wherever u find them ( they all always lie and spread hate and falsehoods )

Why does it have to be youtube? Aren't cartoon's or anime good enough anymore?

Its real anon

Try AntsCanada. Just some dude dedicating time and effort to different ant colonies. It's informational and would get your kids excited about bugs and nature.

Well. I watched it.
I lol'ed when the first kid called Anonomous.
>>
>>132615707
maybe instead of relying on television to educate your kids you could, you know, do it your own damn self? Seriously, don't perpetrate the same age-old methods our parents used. Engage with your kids. Get them involved and active in other shit that isn't stuck in a picture box.
>>
>>132629131
NOT. MY. KIDS.
>>
>>132629255
then why do you care? Just cause they're not yours doesn't invalidate my post

>>132627964
>showing anime to children
It's like you're trying to raise a degenerate
>>
>>132615707
Maybe you could try raising your child instead of letting youtube do it????
>>
>>132631680
>your child
Read the post retard. Besides, what's wrong with finding educational videos for a kid to watch for 15-30 minutes?
>>
>>132631594
You do know in North America they showed dragon ball, Yu-gi-oh, and other anime to kids and just labeled them cartoons right?
