>Father teaches you his trade, but you can't make money of it yet since you leave for the war 1940
>while at war, "the great migration" happens and black southerners take manufacturing jobs in the north
>come back in 1945 to start working on your family business, Detroit now has a larger black population than before
>10 years later blacks start completely displacing everyone you grew up with
>15 years later the family business dies since all your clients left town, you know 3 people that were violently mugged and 1 that got murdered
>refuse to leave town because its been home for you for so long
>20 years later all policy in the city is focused on making black peoples lives better
>60 years later you're being told you're racist ans part of the problem because you have unfavorable views on black people
