Anyone can see that on a global level, the left wing in general is on its deathbed. The world's few remaining socialist governments are facing doom- either slowly by gradual conversion to capitalism, or quickly by societal collapse. Democracies everywhere are seeing left-leaning parties losing ground in elections. In the first world, the closest thing in existence to socialist revolutionaries is a scattered group of LARPing college kids with bike locks. At this rate, within a few decades leftism will be a relic of the past.
With the left out of the way, I predict that a new divide will arise among those who opposed it. I foresee it forming between libertarianism and authoritarianism- those who believe in the intrinsic value of liberty and those who see it as nothing more than a predecessor to chaos. What will this entail?

Authoritarianism will automatically win because the infrastructure is already in place. Look at the two main parties in the UK and US, all four are have authoritarian tendencies.

That's what they said before the French revolution, my friend.
