It would be an absolute disaster. Your country could not make any trade deals on goods trading... and making deals just on services will just not happen, nobody is interested in services trade liberalization in international trade.
DO NOT STAY in tHE CUSTOMS UNION. It is a Trojan horse.
The media doesn't understand how the EU is structured - the EU Customs Union is totally, legally, linked to EU membership. We could sign a customs agreement with the EU but this would have to be written almost from scratch and probably isn't achievable before we drop out in 2019.
Our best option is to apply for EFTA membership, aiming to transition seamlessly from the EU to EFTA in 2019, then using the extra time this buys us to negotiate an extremely comprehensive trade deal with the EU.
A cliff edge scenario would fuck up both sides unnecessarily, not because trade would stop completely, but because the legal barriers that would be created - such as border checks, regulation of sensitive goods, etc - would make trade much more complicated than it was before. It needs to be avoided if at all possible.

>Reducing trade with 90% of your trading partners.
This will be amazing for your working class. They will have to make so many goods you used to buy from abroad. With no one to work all these jobs their wages will go up!
Or your governments will import more people. Not from Europe, as per your wishes.

If I were Norway, I would fucking veto that 100%. If you have a little tea party for your retarded NEET friends, you don't want to let in an elephant who invited himself.

Continentals don't understand the reciprocity of international trade. You're wasting your time on these subhumans.
