Almost definitely not indicative of the women themselves being warriors; it could've been inherited possessions, or put in their grave for any reason other than them being a soldier.

The bodies in questions don't have marks of a violent death as far as I recall either, which is a pretty good indicator of someone being a soldier.

I didn't realize this was even a resisted idea. The notion of the "Shield Maiden" seems to be more of a mythological or ceremonial creation than a common place societal habit.
