As the world swings one way or the other in what's acceptable, so do the centrists. 200 years ago, a centrist would be a person who doesn't like niggers but doesn't think they should be lynched. Trump is trying to keep the USA competitive against Russia and China by rebuilding the USA to become the super-power they used to be. Since his election, he hasn't stopped to push the war agenda by setting up new military bases, offering more manoeuvre to the army, increasing budget, etc.

He manage to demonize Hamas even more and put a pressure on them by using Abbas and therefore is helping Israel greatly. He also put Iran under the spotlight even more. We're not even talking about North Korea.

The people who root for him simply don't understand how the empire needs to change things so nothing changes, that's all. Sure it's always a pleasure to watch an old establishment fall, but it's not the real power that falls, Trump is part of another establishment that will serve this power.

Everything about him points to this direction, I could write about this all night long. The only thing his supporters have is blind beliefs and the joy of watching a crooked group fall (which doesn't mean all crooked people fall).

He ran on as a populist promising massive tax cuts and focusing on issues the lower and middle class care about most.
In addition to that, he's more or less been keeping his campaign promises with the notable exception of Syria and the entire media and established political powers that be are trying to stop him at every turn.

Is anyone else here not really a huge fan Trump but is impressed by what he has accomplished? He constantly seems to get what he wants and wins at everything, even before he became a politician. Many people who stand up to him end up basically going insane at some point (Hillary, Colbert, Rubio, etc.). He's like some kind of cosmic horror, he no one can stop him and they go mad from experiencing him.

It's all relative. Obama was a better choice than McCain. Trump is a much better choice than Hillary. On the absolute merit neither would win. But I would chose Trump over Obama. Actually given the president choices we've had, Trump has them all beat all the way back to Reagan.

Canadian government is shit, ours is absolute evil, Hillary was the representation of that evil. He is going to win in 2020 too if the dems continue with the proud tradition of picking the person they like in spite of the rest of the country despising that person. That was basically repubs before Trump. They wanted Bush. Most of the time you don't even need to get into the details, given how bad the choices are.
