It's still the best way to identify features though especially with bronzes and early terracottas. It's just important to be aware of because we can take 5 different busts of Apollo or Plato for example and you will never believe they're all depicting the same person, we can take a bust of a leader and a bust of a god too and they will be almost identical because rulers often used art as propaganda.
