The last major wave of German immigrants to the country was almost 100 years ago, they are old or dead, and their children assimilated very easily into white society. You'd never know my dad or my grandpa were 1/2 or fully German by talking to them though, because even by the first generation after immigration they had fully assimilated.

About 70% of white people in my area can trace roots to germany. Hell my wife and i both are 100% german on all sides of the family tree. My kid has 100% german ancestry. My family and i are all just red blooded americans.
