Didn't the most recent version of the $1 coin fail because it wasn't accepted at most vending machines, toll booths and other coin operated devices?

Coins are more durable than paper currency, and as such we do not have to expend as many resources each year to replace currency that has lost its ability to be useful as currency (i.e. dollar bills that are crinkled to the point that they can't be put into vending machines, or have numerous tears). In general, you don't tend to carry around a lot of 1s, so the portability disadvantages of dollar coins are negligible.

Absolutely not. We should make more of them. The Susan B Anthony coins were a mistake though, considering how similar they looked to quarters.

Shut up that make it uniform and nice. Unless you're blind or not accustomed to the differences in color and markings it's the easiest thing in the world. A roll or a pile or a wallet of cash all different sizes sticking out all over would be comparatively maddening.

hmm that's neat I guess.

I'm not a particularly big fan of them, and a lot of places you can't even drink or the girls are fugly, but it's worth trying I guess. There are worse ways to pass time at a bachelor party or something than watching a lithe young girl doing acrobatics on a pole and taking her clothes off and maybe rubbing her boobs all over you to get a dollar if things aren't going well.
