Every conservative in the last century knew the struggle of the new millennia would be of tradition (Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, etc.) against modernism (liberalism, feminism, protestantism, USA, etc.).

After 9-11, a wave of "new conservatives" (neocons), liberals in disguise, decided Islam is an enemy to conservatives and that USA is worth saving and protecting.
