Nuke the corona layer of the sun in a circulating pattern to induce a coronal vortex. This can only be done during a solar minimum to create the cortex, and must be angled at the earth. All circuit dependant machinery not contained within a Faraday cage will be irreparably damaged and the entire planet will be reduced to stone age technology after a 10-18 hour solar storm
