This is worth keeping in mind too. You definitely can't get doxed from a .gif, but you CAN link a .psd file to the computer it was created on if you can gain access to the computer and the file wasn't properly scrubbed. This is all stuff people can do, EXIF isn't the only route.

Also worth keeping in mind, it's very very easy to remake the CNN .gif, then screenshot the remake in Photoshop.
