During Hoxha times it was forbidden to wear a beard, because it was too Islamic. You get jail time in some shitty TB-ridden prison just because you had a long beard. All the churches, mosques, Buddhist temples whatever were closed down for some 40-50 years. That's two or three generations of people that never grew up with religion. Their offspring of course were atheists too, or "Muslims" / "Christians" who broke all the rules of their religion but still liked to be part of something so they wore cross necklaces or said in surveys they are "Muslim" because their grandfathers were, once upon a time. Because of this, Albania has no interreligious warfare, no violence between "Christians" and "Muslims." I laugh every time some /pol/tard thinks Albanians are the same as sandniggers who practice Sharia law, because they are completely wrong and have never bothered to research the area and the people. There are more churches than mosques in Albania; but that doesn't even matter, because Albanians just do not take religion seriously, they never have.

Albania's main problems are drug trafficking and corruption, not sharia law and Islamism. Still pretty serious things to worry about, but the typical Albanian will likely sell you weed or coke instead of trying to convert you to Islam through the truck of peace.

Now, get prepared to receive Serb and Greek flags telling you how I'm completely wrong and that Albanians are lower than Arabs because they harvest organs and how Kosovo has most ISIS fighters per capita etc.

I've visited Albania,although mostly been in Tirana and I can attest to the truth of what burgerbro is claiming.
For a majority Muslim according to an Albanian that showed me around--he claimed that 70% of Albanians were Muslim-- they sure seem unreasonably tolerant and dispassionate about it.He never mentioned any hatred or constant attacks between religious groups or rise in fundamentalism and the capital itself looked westernized and as lax to freedom of belief as you would expect from most western countries.
