I suppose it's a good thing, on balance, that the rank-and-file troops of the nationalist and traditionalist renaissance are mostly "Generation Z" kids whose experience is all post-2000. It means that we have, at least, energy and vigour on our side.

Kid, fifty years ago it was ONLY liberals who attacked the media. That - and not outright stupidity or mental illness - is the explanation for why these SJWs are always running around babbling about how "the media" are hating and persecuting them when it's obvious to a child that just about every major media outlet puts all its energy into portraying them as heroes.

Weirdly (for people who never shut up about "being on the right side of history") they too lack all historical sense and perspective.

In the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, the main media outlets really were controlled by the cigar-chomping, strike-crushing capitalists of Marxist propaganda, like Max Aitken and Randolph Hearst, whose money came from real material industries like gold and coal and cement. "Critical Media Studies" was developed in that era, when the agenda of the media really was to defend nationalism (because capitalism was still national capitalism).
It's actually a very interesting question whether any of the techniques and methodologies developed by "Critical Media Studies" in the mid-20th Century can still be applied in the 21st, when characters like Hearst and Aitken have been replaced by people like Jeff Bezos, whose capitalist agenda is immaterial and international and whose propaganda therefore, though just as relentless, is for an entirely different set of values.
