CNN made him a public target. CNN said he was inciting violence (not at all true, if CNN wants to dispute that they are welcome to file a criminal or civil complaint). CNN said he was attacking democracy itself.

CNN then threatened to unleash the most violent political movement in the US since the Weather Underground on him if he ever did anything that CNN, a private organization, deemed "ugly."

This is why we have laws. This is why we need laws. This is what this goddamned country was founded for, to protect private citizens from arbitrary and whimsical punishment by a powerful few who dreamed themselves above accountability.

That they did this all on the fucking Fourth of July just demonstrates how much contempt they have for the American way of life.
