Mussolini's biggest mistake was believing his Yes Men and thus thinking he was a good military commander, when he was not even an average one. Charismatic, a good speaker, the strong-man type to lead a nation to greatness - but a poor general. Should have stuck to Italy and not ventured off on asinine adventures that weakened himself and his allies.
