Women generally don't.

If men and women become equally successful, there's necessarily not enough high status men for high status women. Marriage rates necessarily go down. Low status men cannot get married.

Note that men generally become higher status than women because they absolutely are willing to work harder and endure more hardships because they know it's the only thing that gives them value. Women are naturally valued no matter what their status is. The governments of the west intervene to forcefully make things "equal" though. No matter how much harder men work, this is perceived as inequality and oppression, and policies are set in place to compensate.
