Should teachers be paid more based on their subject demand? Right now, Math and Science teachers are in very very high demand and short supply in the US because they can get paid more in other fields and not have to deal with shitty children and everything that comes with being a teacher. Teachers regardless of subject are usually paid exactly the same at the moment, that means English teachers and Gym teachers are paid exactly the same as Physics and Calculus teachers despite the requirements for both not exactly being equal.
What do you think, /pol/? The shortage of Math and Science teachers will just continue to get worse if nobody does anything. Do you have any alternate solutions?
They should get paid more and I'm honestly surprised they weren't. Why aren't they getting paid more when getting a degree or masters in any math or science major blows english and history out the water?
They should be paid the same. You can't put a price on a child's education.
