When it comes to Islam, leftists see it as being a "brown person" religion rather than actually examining the ideology and seeing that it is quite contrary to their fundamental beliefs. As it is seen as a racial characteristic, it trumps gay rights and even women. Shilling for Muslims is one of the highest forms of virtue signalling to a leftist.
