Well if you bankrupt the country first by overspending and overborrowing for another F-15 fighter jet, we aren't going to be prepared to defend against Sri Lanka even. Only way to be a strong country is to, yes, have a strong national defense to protect ourselves when needed, but to actually start having surpluses in our spending levels. That won't happen if we continue our current foreign policy.

That is a fair argument, but a simple solution is to simply speed up the system. The shorter the route, the less it costs.
