It appears that there is some evidence that in Nazi Germany, Pagan god worship and Germanic Pagan roots were not only ok with Hitler, but were encouraged to create communal optimism and reverence for the Fuhrer. I think it has more to do with creating morale and optimism in wartime than it does about religious mandates but still. Worth noting.
