Was the Reformation actually bad? It's undeniable that the church was pretty corrupt with its non-translation policy and selling of indulgences. But Protestantism is often considered to be cancerous and a root of the invasion of Islam into Europe. Discuss.

Yeah because every charismatic moron being able to read and interpret the bible own his own is good. This leads to new "True churches" springing up everywhere raving how only their community is righteous and everyone else goes to hell. This is literally what happened to protestantism. There are thousands of churches and in order not to fragment into minuscule denominations protestant countries had to impose a ctholic-like suppression of non-orthodox teachings.
Indulgences were a form of charity in return for absolution. In the Catholic church you could have been cleansed of your sins through confession anyway so the only difference was the money. And the church was the welfare state of the middle ages - school system, caring for the elderly, hospitals, free food for the starving, shelters for the homeless and the orphans - all that was ran by the Church, so by donating to the church you donated to the poor by proxy.
And yes the church like every man-made organization was to a degree corrupt (Borgia popes etc), but the protestants blew it way out of proportion.

Protesting against a false religion (whatever it may be) is righteous, and has never been so important as it is now. But all Christian denominations today seem to want to suck muslim dick, even blashpeming as the claim YHVH/IAW is the same as a pagan moon god who was part of a 360-strong polytheistic pantheon worshipped at Mecca.
