I'm a dual British/Irish citizen. I also lived in the States from when I was 11-22 years old.

I always identify as "English" when asked what my nationality is, but I really dislike British culture.
Shit humour, shit attitudes & temperaments, shit fashion, shit drinking habits, shit TV, shit radio, shit music, shit food, shit cooking. Everything is a watered down, diet, store-brand version of America, with its own shitty scummy lowest common denominator & self-important cultural blips. My English family is full of weirdos & I don't get along with them. Most people are a passive-aggressive puss that just moan in private like a bitch, especially about things like immigration.

Ireland however, I managed to pick up an accent from because of my mum teaching me to talk as a baby mostly. They're fun, friendly, & relatable people generally. Culturally not too different from the UK but they don't take themselves anywhere near as seriously & act like hot shit because >muh empire. I love my Irish family, visit frequently, & will probably move there next month. Most Brits figure I'm a paddy anyway.

Culturally though, I'm mostly American now I'd guess. I've picked up the assertiveness & take no shit attitude that most Americans have. I've picked up the vastly superior and universal sense of humour. British people can't handle when banter becomes roasting. Banter seems like a tool to deal with their boring, superficial existences in an equally boring and superficial place, whereas ripping on each other and roasting each other like Americans do to mildly haze/bond to become friends sends people here into a passive-aggressive offended frenzy. I know how to cook properly, have a diverse flavour palette, & can identify flavours very well from my time in the States. From an entertainment standpoint, the US can't be beat. I enjoy American shows/music more than any other for the most part. Even if it's ignorant it's always entertaining.
