Had my political awakening with Ron Paul in 2012, lol, after 2 years of diving in hard into Mises and Rothbard I realized it was nonsense. Left the military after 8 years, went to a state university and got my poli-sci degree. Total liberal in undergrad but still critical of theories. 2016 happens and suddenly I'm a sexist because I refuse to vote for Clinton. Used to think Trump was scary and insane. Now I think he's great. Used to think working two jobs was bullshit and unfair. Now I work 7 days a week between two jobs and love it. I despise the democratic party and I actually enjoy conservative talk radio rather than listening to it for the lulz. Anyone have a similar story? 32 yo white male, Midwest.

This bitch did it for me. Went from MIGOW to 1488. I'm no longer a good goy I guess.
two years ago, when i opened my eyes to the fact that people cannot be trusted to their own methods and need a guiding hand

What was the catalyst for you?

seeing rampant hedonism and conflict in my personal life. all americans live for is their next paycheck so they can buy that next gadget, that next pair of shoes. always needing more. treating politics like a football game. it’s awful. you ever seen the movie war machine? there’s a quote in it that says something along the lines of “when men are left without purpose and leadership, all they’ll do is jerk their dicks and eat chicken.” i want to build unity in america and the hand of the State is necessary.

War Machine added to the watch list. Pirate Bay because (((movies))).

I'll have to check that out
Also, Adam Curtis really shifted my views. His documentaries are great. Some people think their log and pointless but my highest takeaway of his from modern politics is that politicians across the globe are incapable of controlling anything and they simply put in measures that stem from their lack of control. Basically, they have no answers and make it up as they go.

They're really easy to find on YouTube. I remind the century of the self, power of nightmares, bitter lake, and hypernormalisation.
Went from liberal to borderline communist to anti-postmodern socialist, between 2014 and now.
