I genuinely tried to ween myself away from video games and the NEET lifestyle. I told myself I was tired of video games and needed to become a productive member of society, as is my duty. no they haven't. The majority of AAA titles today are shallow, have a plot that has been done by 40 other games and done better by 30 of them. The gameplay on adult-oriented games is so watered down that an 8 year old can play, which admittedly is the point. There are enough titles coming out that a few AAA and several indie titles end up being decent throughout the last few years. There is also a building list of excellent games that aren't really going anywhere.

I had to quit League of Legends. The instant gratification was too much. I had a silver II account with a ton of hours and a level ~25 account with the handle "Vot3forTrump" from back in early 2016. I emailed the game company (Riot) and followed their template for requesting account deletion. First I deleted my main while playing my alt, then I deleted the alt while playing my friend's account, then I was too annoyed to start a new one (it no longer satisfied my crave for instant gratification).

The game is so god damn addicting. I can quit cigarettes in a breeze but League of Legends is something else. What really drove me to quit was playing 60 games on a champion and having a 49% winrate in Silver... If you played for years and aren't top 5% I don't think the game is worth it.

Ff14 is an mmo, so a lot of the difficulty stems from getting 8-24 idiots to work together.

Then if you get those idiots working together, they need to be able to play their role (heal, tank, or dps).

Combine that with square's dedication to making difficult mechanics (especially in the extreme dungeons/primals) and you've got a tough game.

But it's also just a lot of fun, and the story is amazing for an mmo.

Literally this the only game I ever played endlessly are massive multiplayer games that are skill based in terms of PvP like Counter Strike,LoL or WoW.Games where Casuals get no credit(or used too)

I used to do almost nothing besides play vidya in my teens, but at 26 my interest in them has largely petered out, possibly due to chronic depression, but also because I just simply got burned out on them.

The problem is, I never developed a passion for anything else. I never finished college and am currently unemployed. I'm lazy, apathetic, and cynical. I pretty much banked on always being able to enjoy video games. I counted on them to act as an effective distraction from the harsh nature of reality, no matter what happens.

Did this game have a secret weapon hidden in some obscure place? Did this game have an unlockable character with some bizarre requirement? Will you be the first person to discover hidden treasure? This one kid said his dad works at Nintendo and that there was a secret hidden within _____. While there weren't grandiose secrets buried within every title, there were hidden things to be discovered on a varying scale. Now the data will be ripped and the rom will be dumped within a few weeks of the game being released. We can see all the laziness in coding the developers did, all the unused assets because the budget wasn't there, all the glitched mechanics because playtesters are retarded, all the poorly implemented mistakes because the game had to be rushed out for the holiday season to rake in cash instead of being a labor of love and creativity. For online titles, wikis will reveal all of the secrets for millions of casuals, making any adventuring you do pointless because all of the answers and the most efficient way to do them are already written down for you.

Some of this was inevitable as longtime gamers grew up gained real world knowledge but some of it is the developer's fault as well. Many young lads enjoyed Rare's entries in the N64 days, but Microsoft bought them just to break them up and stifle their Nintendo competition.

This is all, of course, in addition to SJWs and Hollywood getting their fingers all over the industry as well.

Things with only men? I can't think of much, in some things you can get a high enough skill level to basically leave all women behind you, for example, I ran a Half-Marathon some time ago, there are pace-runners for people to orientate and have an easier time to keep a certain pace, for example there is a guy with a 2 hour sign and if you follow him you will reach the goal after two hours. The guy moderating in the starting area then offhandedly mentioned that all of them are male, because no woman seems interested or is good enough to do it.

I finished the race and placed around the 300 hundreds, I then looked at statistics online and had I run as a women I would have been among the top 15, that really surprised me, I wouldn't have expected that so few women participate and that most of them are that shit, mind you that was my first half-marathon, so I myself am just a shitty hobbyist.

The PvP was good and still is. It's the already shitty storyline that got ruined when they started bringing in sjw "devs." PvP map design is on point and combos/genuinely unique classes actually make the team aspect of the game matter.
