Yeah, that's a bit of an overstatement. There are many in Europe who'd claim the same about their own country, and plenty among them who would be telling something close to the truth. It's not just Hungary that said no to the refugee quotas recently, it's not just Hungary that had to deal with the soviet rule and other shit before, I could go on.

I know that Poland has refused to receive immigrant and that their sense of identity is deeply rooted in them.

But Hungarian history and culture deeply attract me in general.

It's not like I woke up one day and thought "yeah Hungary sounds cool, let's move there". It's been a process and has taken some reading. The language, the art, the architecture and the history, all of it attracts me about Hungary, among other things.

And as I mentioned before, if I were to move there I would definitely learn the language to the best of my abilities and become assimilated into the Hungarian way of life. I'm sure I wouldn't be the first, nor the last foreigner that has done so in Hungary.

I'm open about my politics and get along just fine with people at the opposite end of the spectrum.

The biggest red pill you can swallow is that you're not objectively right about anything; you simply have priorities that form the backbone of an ideology. For some people the moral virtues of egalitarianism outweighs the extreme difficulty of it's implementation and so they are liberal, and I accept that. I'm a family man and my priorities lie with the people closest to me rather than strangers so I'm conservative, I find they're just fine with that more often than not, and I make sure I have very little to do with the people who aren't.

The issue is when you get into the mindset that you're stuck. It's never too late to make yourself better and it's not that difficult to become better than average if you put work into it.
If you're stuck at home and feel you're worthless then start putting your energies into learning a new language and learning skills. Take free online courses for mathematics, get that first language down and then go for another afterwards, brush up on world history, politics, and economics, take a formal dance course (be it tango, salsa, ballroom, etc. At this point you likely need to be eased into direct contact with a woman and to have an outlined masculine leading role, which formal dancing provides), take a course in a martial art to help you with discipline, if you have a community college or access to cheap/free education then attend and work towards something be it a degree or a certification that will help you find work, and damn it get some plants of your choosing and start a garden. Learning to take care of something else and pay attention to its needs while getting only the satisfaction of seeing it progress is a powerful thing. Pets are great, but with plants you can fuck up and the lack of interaction I think is beneficial since you can't use a plant as a substitute for human interaction but with pets you can.
On top of that, if you're far down I would really recommend Jordan Peterson, because while I don't agree with everything he says he is absolutely fantastic for people in a down and cripple state.
In just two years you can accomplish all of the things I've listed and find yourself as a well rounded individual with more going on than your typical normie.

I've since graduated, but everyone in college knew I was a shitlord. I'd regularly joke about hitler and the 6 gorillion and le happy merchant to jews I knew, for example, but it was always in that sort of "We'll just agree to pretend that you're joking even thought we both know damn well that you mean it" sort of way, if that makes any sense.

I managed to piss off plenty of people with political incorrect thoughts and the socratic method, but I never ever apologize and doubled down if needed. If anything, this is the biggest advice to take from Trump, by the way.
