The Parliament Building was a REALLY expensive building during it's construction, but after 30 years, it turned black and started to deteriorate (bad quality materials). Renovations started in the 1930s, and ended in 2013. The cost of the renovation efforts is a national secret.
The square surrounding the Parliament Building is under constant reconstruction.
Pic related will be the Parliament's new office building, above the metro station, connected with an underground tunnel to the Parliament Building. The cost of this building only is 9 billion Forints.
