Perception studies are all bullshit. It's not saying what is really happening, but rather a limited gaze into what people THINK is happening. It's a dumb metric.
Now distrust of media was an earned thing. Again though, of course republicans are more skeptical because the media that leans right makes it known what the other organizations are up to so they are exposed to more proofs that confirm their own bias.
