11, the old testament supernatural stuff stopped once man got wiser. We have smartphones and nothing to capture anything like the levels of burning bushes that give commandments, rainbows as a covenant to not flood the Earth again, parting the red sea, serpents and deception. The imagination of man is a powerful thing, meme magic is real though.

Traumatic brain injury? My head hit the pavement going 50 miles an hour. After I was declared legally dead for 5 minutes, I had a near death experience that convinced me there is nothing beyond death and I have been OK with that ever since. I have a new sense of peace and connectedness now. I can't help but laugh when people say they believe in gods and demons.

Ignore all that lovey dovey shit.
Think of it this way, go to church because you dont believe. Go there looking.

Christianity is based in 'free-will', human agency...liberty. God gave us the ability to choose what we do. This is his greatest gift, past life itself. Even if you dont believe in God, believe in Free Will.

People think religion is about coercing people, or forcing people to do something. No, that is the opposite of free will. Any religion/govt/people who do this are evil. Simple as that. A forced act of good (free health care) is not an act of good.

God teaches us what is good, and then gives us agency to hopefully choose good.
>>

>>
>>132222765
I'm similar to this, I was raised with no specific pressure to believe in anything, and so the label atheist has always been appropriate for me. It was around 31-32 I started to see the benefit of traditional values.

It has nothing to do with spiritualism or "god", those are laughable concepts which no skeptical and rational person accepts as true.

But all the data points to a traditional lifestyle being the one most likely to bring happiness and fulfillment.
>>
>>132221409
Was always in an irreligious family, but finally grew out of Atheism around 13-14.

I definitely don't want to argue you further into disbelief. I understand what you mean, and condescension aside, I used to believe the same. However simplifying the omnipotence and omnipresence of God and the overwhelming evidence that points towards his sovereignty to the idea of a "magic figure in the sky" speaks volumes about where your heart is.

>>132236966
Can't decide who's right? That's a blatant and misleading strawman coupled with deliberate false causation. Jesus is right, and any "Christian" worthy of being called a Christian takes up his cross and admits this.
>>
>>132224389
That's the issue, a religious man can see something extraordinary, but nobody would believe him, so why try to describe your experience with anyone who is not of your faith, They would simply never understand,

I think that the reality is that we punish ourselves with god as the personification of this process, a bit like saturn on kronos. >>
>>132237432
One will only "go to hell" if they are stubborn in their ways, utterly unwilling to admit anything but "I know best".

Instead, the way of truth is to admit you don't know how to do right, no matter how hard you try, what you thought was right have turned out to be filthy rags, and that you want to know the one who does know what is right.

Christianity is the most amoral schlock ever created by men to control stupid people. And it works.

I dont imagine myself going to heaven when i die for a god that die for but there is nothing wrong with be kind to people and do good things because they are just nice things to do for others. The bible says lots of things i don't like and its hard to live up to it standards but i just try and take away the part of being kind to one another and trying not to judge people.

Americans are mostly brown people now. It's acceptable for brown people to have religion. Leave them be.

Also the historical figure called Jesus was black.
>Dark skin and wooly hair
Is how he is described. That's a black man.

I was an atheist until ~20-21, then I started to doubt atheism. Looked a lot into Christianity, but now I consider the pagan way since I identify way more with that way of thought and philosophy.

I been converted to the Joe Rogan podcasts. They are actually pretty good, as long as it's not about weed.

Hell (which is what I assume you're referring to) wasn't God's design. God would very much like it if you chose him (This choice being exemplified by following his code of goodness) but he won't force you, however he won't accept you because you turned your back on him. Not choosing God is the only unforgivable sin. He can't force you to go to Heaven if you didn't choose Heaven, as it voids free will.

As such, Hell is simply the alternative.

Every stage is "clearly the most red pilled" when you're in said stage. Keep going anon you've almost reached the end
>>
>God allegedly has almighty power so if he wanted to he could physically and mentally reveal himself to everyone on planet Earth
>but he doesn't
>So if you don't believe in God then you'll go to hell
>0 (zero) proof that hell exists

>God is entirely good, benevolent, kind and knows everything
>Yet god lets bad things and sufferings of all kinds, from tiny sufferings to enormous sufferings happen when God would allegedly know about these horrible things in advance while religious belief states that God is in control and good, kind and benevolent
>yet god chooses to (allegedly) knowingly let bad things and sufferings happen

wow nice argument

God doesn't cause suffering, people do.
>but he could stop it
Then we wouldn't have free will.
>but that means he's not omnipotent
This is a common misunderstanding of God's omnipotence. God's omnipotence doesn't include logical contradictions. He can not make a square round, just as he can't have free will and avoid suffering completely at the same time. He is omnipotent within a logical framework.

I don't think I ever took to religion in the first place desu. I'd participate in the rituals, but they never meant anything to me.

Before anyone asks about the flag, just because I'm no true believer doesn't mean I can't agree with many of the teachings and appreciate the writings as parable. So it fits better than the other selection flags and I prefer having a selection flag than using my geographical flag.

That all being said I'm still open to religion, I've just never found something that struck me profoundly. So in that regard while I'm still technically an atheist I'm more of an agnostic.

I'm not an atheist, but organized religion was obviously retarded to me around 5th grade or so. A bunch of likely pedos larping that they are eating the body of their Jewish 'wife's son' God, just laughably silly. God wanting to send people to hell for not accepting Christ when he hasn't given any evidence of Christ's divinity, while also forgiving pedophiles and rapists as long as they repented, also rubbed me the wrong way. Way to teach kids that actions don't have consequences, be as big a piece of shit as you want. As long as you tell Jesus you're sorry, it's ok.

The whole thing is just stupid. Mormon or Scientology stupid. Why would god care if anyone loved him? And if they didn't, why get butthurt and send them to eternal damnation? What a sensitive ass tbch.

Same.
I waited for a few years, believing the people that said it was due to "muh edge".
It's not.

Nationalism is fully compatible and even complete with atheism.
Your entire allegiance can be for your people.
