Yeah most southerners come from a Scotch-Irish heritage to some extent and the music traditions of the old world carried on here but also evolved into creating country, rock, and bluegrass. It's a really fascinating thing honestly.

Another great legend. I remember my dad playing a lot of his works on old cassettes in the rickety old truck along with many of the other legends. A lot of these old singers give me nostalgia of riding down dirt roads and seeing if I could convince my dad to drive around long enough to finish the tape.
