What if our founding fathers almost had it right, but not quite?
I think they got it wrong when they made federal law supercede state and local laws.
It should be in reverse. Everything would be locally oriented with the federal government having the least power.

That is what they intended. Any power not clearly granted the Federal Government in the Constitution is inherently a state power. Of course, the federal government doesn't care and shits all over everything
