As a fucking spic I can say I've been a soccer fan for all my life, but lately it's just become shit.

But beaneranon, how is this fucking related to politics?

Well, two main things:

First and the least important (but still bothers me). FIFA is banning crowds (mainly Mexican fans and some other Latin America countries) from yelling a traditional "puuuuto" chant when a goalie kicks off. It translates to "fag" and it's been around for decades. Now FIFA says it's homophobic and it will fine soccer teams whose fans use it.

Second, there's this new shit called VAR (video assistant referee) in which referees can review plays whenever they choose to, like in the NFL. This is fucking bullshit, it's just more of that "always being watched" culture. It takes away from the game. For example one of the most famous goals in history, Maradona's hand of God wouldn't have happened if this bullshit was around.
