Do most office jobs really require a college degree? It seems like, with a few weeks of training you could teach people to do most office work. I don't understand why a 4 year degree is considered necessary in most cases. Obvious for doctors, scientists, etc its important, but I think its odd that college is considered almost necessary for a good job.

training costs money, time and money.
businesses are supposed to make money, not spend money.

College/University is companies outsourcing intelligence testing basically.
Completing it shows that you have at least some drive to be successful, can manage your time to some degree without someone holding your hand and you are at least somewhat intelligent.
That's ignoring the fact that no matter what you study you still have an extra four years of understanding what is required from you and then completing tasks in the form of assessments, even if you never use any of it.

Let me give you the ultimate redpill.
There are so many people now looking for so many jobs, that employers now institute processes that are designed to simply weed out as many people as possible before they even get to the interviewing stage.
A degree is essentially now a certificate stating that you are able to wipe your own arse without tripping over. It is considered the bare minimum to get a white collar job now. Even then if you haven't got a few years experience then they will probably not give you a chance anyway, because they don't want to take the burden of the cost of "a few weeks of training" as you put it when there are dozens of other applicants looking at that job who have already done that training.

because even with a 4 year degree you still end up with illiterate retards that still won't do shit after the training you talk about.

They require a 100+ IQ, and college is nothing more and a fancy, expensive, overly-long, proxy IQ test, since it's illegal to just give IQ tests outright when hiring.

and now you understand.
equality is about corporate sabotage.

The HR lady has to justify her useless degree.

No
Most people don't realize a lot of office jobs are working class tier.

This is partly right, Most schools aren't teaching you to think, they are teaching you to show up on time, plan assignments time.
Look at open office floor plans, they are like school rooms, you now realize they weren't training you to be the boss in school, but a worker bee.
But one catch is while to actully do the job you don't need a college degree, sometimes you need the degree to know 'why' something is done or never done, so while you never actully use the degree it's Nesseracy in a emergency stoppage unintuitive sort of way.
