That's why all the big corporations and billionaires support higher taxes. Small, would be growing companies can't eat into their marketshare because all their cash is taken by taxes. As the owner of a small, growing business, I can say it takes tons of cash to grow and expand. Can't do it if taxes eat up most of your profits.

I own a company with an income before tax at $270,000 per year and federal income taxes alone are at 33%. We pay 40%+ on direct taxes, not even including sales taxes and excise taxes. Very difficult to expand product line, increase warehouse capacity, and hire people when all your free cash flow is stolen.

The tax system is a profit center for the poor, in addition to the 4 different types of food programs that they quadruple dip into, free school meals 3 times per day even during summer, medicaid, section 8 housing, and so on.

No, it's mainly due to the fact that capital gains, such as selling a stock for profit, are the majority of their earnings and are taxed at 15% (and stock dividends are taxed at 20%). There is no logic behind taxing this "income," the rich are already losing to inflation, bearing the risk of the investments, and obviously don't get 15% tax credit back if their stocks go down in value. It's simply another money grab by the ever growing and ever-expanding government.
