If by liberal you mean leftist, then no. If by liberal you mean classically liberal (libertarian) then basically they aren't bad guys.

Leftists want to use force to impose their beliefs on everyone and they aren't content with disagreement so everyone who doesn't fall in line is to be ridiculed and harassed. Libertarians basically want to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone and nobody hurts them so it's a pretty neutral stance.
