All you need to know about the Iraq war is that the evil league with the comic book villains is called International Socialist. Saddam and Obama belong to this same Organization (but Bush Jr. doesn't), and the media that shapes your opinion is in their pockets. When the IS lost control of Iraq, Obama made US troops leave on purpose, then created ISIS to reconquer it. ISIS did it, but then chose to keep the country and declared it a Caliphate. Due to their betrayal, the fake media stopped being silent about them, and started campaigning to get them annihilated, so the IS can attempt again to reconquer it.

All world factions want control of Iraq, because it connects three continents and most trade and troops routes have to go through it. That's why it became the birth of civilization, and that's why the place is always on war. In tactical terms, controlling Iraq is like controlling the center square of Tic-Tac-Toe.
