He's right. Every other ethnicity identifies by culture/ethnicity like French or Portuguese or Austrian. It's pretty unique for Americans to regard themselves as white rather than American. In a way, maybe America should the "white" homeland as Israel is to jews but race is way too vague for other nations to identify with especially since they haven't had the historical confrontation of white vs black as the USA has.
