To say that with the EU, cultures of nations will disappear and form into one giant blob of culture is wrong because:
1. History shows, that cultures can provail under a state that has multiple cultures inside it. Polish survived the German and Russian occupation, Scotland still is very Scottish, although in a United Kingdom for more than 200 years and the Basks, who have part of France since forever still have a bask culture. None vanished, eventhough at time, governments tried to irradicate different cultures within a country.
2. Globalism and international media is making culture much more uniform, but then cultures adapting to other foreign influences isn't unusual, how else would half of Europe use Latin letters. Yet, this is making it on a much more global level, actually posing a threat to European culture. But this started before the EU gained the power it had and was then already a problem.
3. While cultures survive even in surpressive nations, internaionalism does. BUT BE SURPRISED: The EU spends a huge amount of money to fund cultural events within the EU, locally, nationally and internationally to promote traditions and local and national identity. There are interpretors and translators in Brussels that translate every piece of paper, that is officially written into all languages of the EU, so none is left out.
