I think there is more to it than that.

The democrat platform is basically lets make a nonwhite coalition and control the white house forever. "browning" america is what accomplishes this, and all the stats backing this up is basically a promise that utopia is around the corner, once all those evil white males die.

This also ties into the democrates basically being the party of technocrats. If you can estimate what the future is, you can control its path.

Not to derail what this thread is about, but this desire to forecast the future is one of the things that Trump really screwed up. All the pollsters and experts made an estimate of how things will be and they were wrong. This gets to one of the underpinnings of the modern democrat; they understand the world and where it is going.

Of course everyone more or less likes having a nice neat story of where the world is headed. Unpredictability is scary and that makes the future scary, having some charts made by the best demographers around is comforting because it is feeding you a lie.
