There was no "Renaissance," no "Enlightenment." These along with Protestantism are merely post-Western Christian distractions from the Truth. You see, we have been ignorant about the Truth. Due to the Western Empire's fall, we simply did not know about it. Catholicism, Protestantism--all of it was a corruption of the faith, of God's Truth. But what is the excuse now? It is all right there before you. The Creed, the councils, the unbroken Tradition. This is the truth my friends.

I was raised without a religion--the inevitable result of Western Christianity's trajectory. In pursuit of the truth, I first came to God through philosophy, inching closer and closer to the Church, and when I realized Orthodoxy was the Truth and started attending Divine Liturgy and Vespers, I knew immediately that this was the way.
