Downtown during the day everywhere was swarming with chinese celebrating their culture and even having a parade.

Don't know about cheap land specifically, but the area around Keremeos and Osoyoos is beautiful, open, and mostly full of people who care about guns and religion. Lot of pakis buying up orchard country though, unfortunately.

North of Kelowna I don't know too much about, but the area around Quesnel is fucking beautiful and cheap as borscht, if you don't mind the seclusion. Got a relative lives out north, he's a pastor and lives a pretty good life out there.
