Thousands of battles have been fought to maintain peoples' rule over territory. It's an important part of who we are as people that relates to genetic survival. Allowing an influx of foreigners into the land ruled by your people makes your territory a divided place, and when the numbers are large enough, conflict naturally occurs with the other group trying to assert influence and ultimately rule in that territory instead of your own group. If your group is not in control, your chances of genetic survival are decreased. Cooperation among members of a tribe (a group of people with a common ancestor) is the survival strategy of the human race, and to deliberately go against that is to invite the destruction of your own.

When you're importing cheap labor from poo countries it's bad. Not only a bad decision for your own people but an immoral decision because you are taking more capable people from those countries when they could possibly fix their own countries. Brain drain is real.
