Oil companies on the other hand only care about profit.
Climate change is real but maybe its a good thing who knows. The CO2 we release used to be in the atmosphere after all.

No. The scientists are pushing the climate change because they're hyper-conformist.
Academia generates a lot of people with this trait thanks to the publish or perish policy there's little to no original thought.
Why bother using your brain when you can just repeat what everyone else says? Besides, having original opinion might hurt your standings.
This is why you see a lot of academia bullshit like intersectional feminism and marxism.

I'm not saying that global warming is not real. In fact I don't have strong opinion on the subject. However the modern intellectuals are not very trustworthy.

Eh, part of what you said is true. I'm a PhD, been in academics for a while. I'm a viper for bullshit papers and you can usually publish 3 papers explaining why 1 study is shit, and get it in their same journal, if you want to go to the efforts of that. It's labor intensive for me in chemistry, so I tend to only pick on the thing's that bug me enough.

With respect to global warming, greenhouse gasses are real, co2 absorbs ir radiation and converts it to heat, etc. No one in the field wants to touch on the subject because no one can explain why that converted heat is not heating the atmosphere. So we let them (((climate scientists))) do it. Guess what their credentials are? Didly squat.

With that said, nearly all chemists I met completely buy into the climate hoax model. They act as on the basis of their understanding of a greenhouse gas, without ever perusing the literature or looking at data.
