There are a ton of other factors but this is the general rundown as to why Venezuela is where it is now. What else could you expect from a country which could be brought to a complete standstill with only a few rockets?

They voted for this and have no sympathy. They wanted Chavez and they got it. They cheered as he seized land and farms. They Cheered and voted for him again as he shared the oil money he seized. They voted again as he socialised everything and continued to cheer. Then things turned sour and having handed over to this government all kinds of power and allowed it to disarm them they now cry about rigged elections. They now cry about how the government run farms and oil is starving the country. They now cry when their government run hospitals have no lights or beds.

They voted for this and they deserve it. That they enjoyed their 7 fat years without stopping to consider the future is a hard lesson they all need to learn. That they willingly allowed communism to take root in their country and happily let it work is the reason they are diving in dumpsters now for food. Its why children die in hospital from infections we havent seen a death from in over 50yrs.
