'Straight news' reporting can be just as biased and partisan as an opinion segment.

If a channel only reports the stories that make the other side look bad and ignores stories that make their side look bad or the other side look good, that kind of "straight news reporting" leads people away from the truth more thoroughly than anything.

It's another form of bias, and it's much more subtle and sinister. And people much more easily fall for it because you don't notice what you aren't being told.
